Godzilla vs King Ghidorah review: Countdown to Godzilla's Return #14

What’s one element of sci fi missing from the Godzilla movies? Time travel, of course! Just don’t overthink things. It will make your head hurt.

By the way, this movie has one of the coolest posters ever.

Godzilla vs Biollante: Countdown to Godzilla's return #13

If you’re a scientist, and your daughter dies, what would you do? Why, you would preserve her spirit by fusing her cells with rose cells, then fusing Godzilla cells into it to make it a superpowered indestructible doom plant, of course. It’s what anyone would do.

Godzilla 1985: Countdown to Godzilla's Return #12

After a ten year rest, the King of the Monsters returned to the big screen. It was made in 1984, and released in the US in 1985, hence the title Godzilla 1985. This movie is also referred to as Godzilla Returns, or Return of Godzilla.

Terror of Mechagodzilla: Countdown to Godzilla's Return #11

Terror of Mechagodzilla is the 15th and final Godzilla movie of the original series. The first English titles were Mechagodzilla’s Counter Attack, and Terror of Godzilla… even though Godzilla has been a hero for quite some time now. Seriously, someone has a big titling problem.

Godzilla's Revenge: Countdown to Godzilla's Return #10

I have dreaded watching this since the day I started this countdown. I took the advice from other Godzilla fans, and I have not watched this movie... until today. I experienced this tragedy so anyone who reads this doesn’t have to. I am referring to the worst Godzilla movie ever made... Godzilla’s Revenge. It’s also known as All Monsters Attack, but it should really have been called Attack of the Stock Footage, or Suicide Encouragement.

Destroy All Monsters Review. Countdown to Godzilla's Return #9

Godzilla, his son, Rodan, Mothra, Gorosaurus, Manda, Baragon, Kumonga, and Varan... 9 monsters in one movie! What more could you ask for? You know, besides more screentime for each of them. That would be nice.

Son of Godzilla: Countdown to Godzilla's Return #8

This is a film that most fans seem to be split on. They either like it, or hate it. I'm going to check it out for myself.

Godzilla vs the Sea Monster: Countdown to Godzilla's Return #7

After getting brainwashed by aliens, Godzilla decided to take a rest in a cave of some unknown island. Too bad for him, because he gets woken up by some jerks and has to fight a living oxymoron.

Godzilla vs Monster Zero review: Countdown to Godzilla's Return #6

If there is any Godzilla movie I never get tired of, it’s this one. I love it. Just the right amount of cheesiness and kaiju action. It’s one of my favorites.

Ghidorah, the Three Headed Monster: Countdown to Godzilla's Return #5

Released the same year as Mothra vs Godzilla, we have Ghidorah, the Three Headed Monster, introducing King Ghidorah, a three headed dragon from space that shoots lightning out his mouths. If that doesn’t sound cool to you, then I have lost hope in your existence.

Mothra vs Godzilla: Countdown to Godzilla's return #4

This film is considered one of the best Godzilla films ever, by both fans and critics. It features Godzilla fighting a giant butterfly named Mothra. I’m going to be watching the original Japanese subtitled version for the review. The dubbing in the English version isn’t too great.

King Kong vs Godzilla: Countdown to Godzilla's Return #3

After Godzilla Raids Again, the King of the Monsters stayed frozen in ice for the next 7 years. During that time, Toho, the company who makes these movies, continued the kaiju trend with Rodan, The Mysterians, Varan, and later, Mothra. It wasn’t until 1962 that Godzilla finally broke out of the ice, in one of the most legendary films ever made... King Kong vs Godzilla.

Thoughts on episode 1 of Resurrection (2014 TV series)

The first episode of the new series called Resurrection just premiered the night of writing this review, March 9th 2014. From what I saw of the ads, it looked really creepy. It should come as no spoiler that the plot is about three people, as far as we know, died some time ago, and for some reason, they're coming back from the dead. That's freaky. But it looked like it could be an interesting new show.

Godzilla Raids Again: Countdown to Godzilla's Return

Next on the Countdown to Godzilla’s return, we have Godzilla: Raids Again. But wait, I’m sorry, apparently that title isn’t AMERICAN enough. What I meant to call it, is Gigantis, the Fire Monster. Don’t ask me why they changed the title to that for its American release. I have no clue.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters - 1956 short review

This is the American re-edit of the original Gojira, released in 1956. You could say that this is the same movie as the one I previously reviewed, but there are a few things I have to go over before moving on to the official sequel to Gojira.

Countdown to the Return of the King of the Monsters #1: Gojira - 1954

Now it’s time to get started with BChamps’ Countdown to the Return of the King of the Monsters: Godzilla! This is #1 on the Countdown, and we’re taking a look at the original 1954 Japanese masterpiece, Gojira. Keep in mind, this is not the one with Raymond Burr. That was the American edit in 1956. This is the original, untouched film. Honestly, I could type for hours about how great this film is, but I’ll keep it short.

Countdown to the Return of the King of the Monsters #0: Kaiju Films and why they're not popular with Western audiences.

Here we are with #0 on the BChamps 3217 Countdown to the Return of the King of all Monsters! Of course we’re talking about Godzilla, the most popular and most recognizable monsters ever. Now you might be asking why this is #0 instead of #1. The reason is that I first need to talk about the giant monster movie genre in general. This won’t be necessarily a review, but my perspective about the genre.

And this is just for laughs.
